Hello everyone my name is Jérôme (Jay Rhum is for the Irish prononciation)

I have been in motorcycling since I was a kid, I started stripping down my Peugeot 103 when I was 14 years old to make it run faster and look nicer by adding bits and pieces. I went to a French school in South Ouest of France to learn mechanic for 4 years, after I graduated I had the opportunity to come to Ireland with few friends to improve my Cork accent but never returned.

After working in couple motorcycle shop in Cork I am now working for a Cork tech company but still love motorcycles.

My first bike was Peugeot 103 RCX (50cc), then I had a Yamaha TZR125 then when I moved to Ireland I had a CBR 400RR then moved to a Yamaha R6 and to finish with a Kawasaki ZXR 600 RR who had a Nakano replica paint job on it.

In the last past few years my son got a YCF Pilot 150 (Pitbike) this is how I got one for myself YCF 140 SM also couldn’t leave him on his own.

Road bike, I am on a project with a Yamaha XJR 1300 SP at the moment.

I remember back in the early days in Ireland the poker runs, the rock bands and the smells of burning rubbers during the drag races and  the meetings. Meeting up with lads Ted, Mick, Peter, Robert, Conor, Yannick, Franck… was the Craig.

My favorites rider is Valentino Rossi but now the French Moto GP riders could surprise you from time to time.

I would love to go the TT on the Isle of Man sometime. It still on my to do list.

I still have great memories of the different moto GP I went to in France.

The West Cork Motorcycle Club is trying to keep members active the best way they can regardless the actual climate.

Club and members need to stay proactive and provide new ideas, we need you!

Thanks and best regards,

Jérôme
